I, Matze, was born 1989 in California. In the year 2002 I moved to Germany, Then, In 2009, I graduated High School in the federal province Rhineland-Palatinate, from where I subsequently moved to Munich to pursue my film directing studies. Now, that I have graduated, I am working on the realization of this feature film.
Furthermore, I am punk, which means nothing more to me than taking a stand and staying true to yourself, regardless of those, that tell you otherwise. Primarily I still refer to myself as a human being, to symbollically demonstrate that people don`t allow others to place them in the usual boxes and that not everybody who dresses in clichés, confirms each negative prejudice.
Don`t Judge a Book by it`s cover” is a sentence, which I still remember very well from my childhood in the USA. In the end it`s not important what you wear outside, but rather what`s happening in your inside. This generally also applies to the characters in a film. What a person does defines who that person is.
Not only do I try to bring across this message in my film, in all aspects of my life I try to refute typical clichés in order to unravel the real truth behind things.
Not only do I try to transport this message in the film, but in all aspects of my life I also attempt to refute typical clichés by conveying upon others what the real truth actually is, amongst other things our 10`s Oldschool Punk Band “Umluft 180â€, with wich we have released an EP and an LP. In this band I am singer, guitarist, and also play E-Violin.
